Moving the Local Atlanta Community

At Atlanta Peach Movers, we love getting involved with the local community and a variety of events. For example, we sent twenty-one cases of water to the Atlanta Beltline Southwest 5K race which occurred on July 14. During the Christmas season, we do deliveries for Toys for Tots picking up donated toys and delivering to a central warehouse. Bi-monthly, we move families into renovated homes done over by Habitat for Humanity.  We also provide assistance to Hands On Atlanta whose three focus areas are: the environment, economic recovery, and education. Furthermore, we do deliveries for the Enchanted Closet whose mission is to physically, mentally, and emotionally outfit Metro Atlanta high school girls from low-income families through programs that prepare them for social and professional milestones.

It is our passion at Atlanta Peach Movers to simply help others!

Moving Insights & Misconceptions

Moving is certainly a challenge, and should be left to the experts at Atlanta Peach Movers. People don’t realize how much labor is involved in moving and often find that they will wear themselves out often causing an injury which can cost more than the move itself had they hired professionals.  We constantly hear people say the same three things when we provide an estimate and recommend the number of men, required equipment, and number of hours it will take to complete the move: I don’t have that much stuff; I don’t need that many men; it won’t take that long. Each piece that you have has a certain cubic value, and movers calculate how many cubes or pounds of furniture that you have. Another phrase that we hear is: I don’t have a ton of stuff.  Our usual response is, “You actually have two tons of stuff.” Two tons is four thousand pounds or about the equivalent of a good size SUV. How often do you lift 4000 pounds in a day?

When providing a moving estimate, the best solution is to have the right amount of manpower and equipment. For example, if you are in a one bedroom apartment on a ground floor moving to another apartment nearby on a second floor and have ten small pieces, the best solution is to have two men do the move for you.  If you have additional items and are in a two bedroom apartment with an elevator, your best bet is to go with four men. Remember that you are paying for time, so you want to increase the labor and decrease moving time. If you are in a large home, you might want six men and two trucks. Our best advice to you is to not try and estimate your own move. We typically find that there is a seventy-percent chance that the customer will underestimate the time required and pay too much. Please call us before you make arrangements and discuss your options.  Atlanta Peach Movers is a premium service providing value. Our customers find that quality pays; it doesn’t cost!

Atlanta Peach Movers- There’s no “Tree” in our name

There’s no “Tree” in our name. Why do we brand ourselves as such? The reason is very simple in that people think we are Peachtree Movers. In fact, there is another moving company called Peachtree Movers, and many people think they are calling us when they make the call. Be ware of this HUGE difference! Because we have to constantly make people aware of the difference, so we adopted the “there’s no tree in our name” slogan. You will see it in all of our advertising and even on the shirts of our movers. In Atlanta, there are so many Peachtree Streets that people naturally make the misnomer. Please remember that we are Atlanta Peach Movers, and there is no “tree” in our name.

Proud to be the official mover of the Atlanta Braves

Atlanta Peach Movers is proud to be the Official Mover of the Atlanta Braves. Achieving this status means that we are a trusted partner who handles all of their relocations. In addition to doing personal moves for Braves players, staff, and employees, we also handle their biggest move of the year: the annual trip to Disney World for Spring Training. We make sure every bat, ball, hat, jersey, and much more make it down to Florida as smoothly as possible. It takes quite an effort to get everything from Turner Field to Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex, but it’s a job we gladly enjoy doing.

Initially, Orlando Lynch, owner of Atlanta Peach Movers was introduced to the Braves through a relationship that he developed with Turner Broadcasting.  It’s all part of the core philosophy at Atlanta Peach, developing and maintaining relationships. Orlando often says, “We’re in good keeping with the Braves, and we love to attend the games and talk about baseball.” Being a major supporter himself, you can often find Orlando at the stadium sitting just behind the catcher in the SunTrust section. In fact, Orlando was honored by the Braves earlier this year by receiving the Jackie Robinson ‘Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner’ Award. As you can see, having this relationship is a win for the Braves, Atlanta Peach Movers, and the fans!

A day in the life of Atlanta Peach Movers

Atlanta Peach Movers

At Atlanta Peach Movers, we move a great diversity of people, and we talk to many more providing estimates and advice. This past year, a few examples stand out about interesting people, details of their possessions and their story in general. We want you to understand that we don’t just count the items in your home and then send manpower and equipment. There are always little clues discovered throughout the process that lead to conversations where we can get to know our customer. We may tell you to make sure your pets are secured and then come to find that your cat likes to spend his days in the lobby of your high rise. We don’t think it unusual that your cat can operate the elevator by himself and comes and goes at his leisure. This is the type of thing that we like to hear about; it takes some of the pressure off of the customer and makes it easier to have a good conversation about how to best go about getting your move done.

If you have a stereo system worth $118,000, then that’s no problem. If your great grandfather was Charles Lindbergh or you have a painting worth a million dollars, we’re on your side. Our experience and our resources are as vast as our customer’s occupations and stories. We move everyone and we like to understand where you are in life and what your needs are. If you are young and living in an apartment, we know that you will be moving up soon to a condo or a townhouse. If you are someone who was alive when Charles Lindbergh made his epic flight, then you will find us to be caring professionals who will take as much time with you as necessary to get you settled into your new home.

We want you to understand we can handle almost any job, and we do so with ease. Our goal is to make you comfortable in knowing that your Steinway or your chest from 1846 that traveled across the Great Plains in a Conestoga wagon will arrive in the same condition it was in when it left your old home. Whatever your situation, give us a call and tell us a little about yourself; it helps us to help you make better decisions. At Atlanta Peach Movers, we move thousands of customers, but we also like to think that we have made many more friends.

Behind the scenes at Atlanta Peach Movers

Atlanta Peach Movers is a moving company like no other. It all started over 20 years ago by Orlando Lynch with one truck and a lot of passion for the business. Since that time, Lynch has built Atlanta Peach Movers into the largest mover in the region with 40 trucks and over 130 employees. “It’s about sweating the details and making it right,” says Lynch whose long-term commitment to his customers shows in the amount of repeat business and referrals the company gets. “I made it this far by being a people person; I simply love what I do.” Although he spends a lot of his time meeting and greeting outside of the office, he is frequently seen at work concentrating on the smallest details making sure that every move goes as smoothly as possible. In fact, he expects everyone under his employ to do top notch work which is made possible, in part, byAtlantaPeachUniversity. Inside one of the warehouses sits a multi-storey training house built to be an obstacle course. It has all of the normal things you would find in a typical customer’s house including beds and tables and sofas; however, that’s where the similarity ends. It’s full of delicate items like glass shelves and marble tops as well as heavy items like pianos and large entertainment centers. But what really makes it unique is the layout: there is a steep and narrow twisting staircase that is built to challenge the movers as they must go up and down the stairs without hitting the walls and without damaging the furniture. If this weren’t enough, there is a low hanging ceiling fan above the bed and sprinkler heads that must be avoided while transiting congested spaces. Just outside of the house is a truck that is permanently parked for the movers to practice loading and unloading. Says Lynch, “It cost over fifty thousand dollars to buildAtlantaPeachUniversity, but it makes all the difference. If a mover can’t do it in my house, he’ll never get to yours.” Atlanta Peach Movers has an A plus rating with the Better Business Bureau and is also certified by the American Moving and Storage Association. They are the Official Mover of the Atlanta Braves, Zoo Atlanta, and the Women’s Council of Realtors inGeorgia.

We were featured in Fortune 500!

Atlanta Peach Movers is proud to announce that we were featured in Fortune 500 Magazine! Our president Orlando Lynch was featured in an article that stresses the importance of minority suppliers and their role in helping corporate America grow. Here is what he had to say…

“President and CEO Orlando Lynch, looking for a chance to run his own business, bought a tiny moving company in 1987 for $4,500. Since then he has built it into a firm with 130 full-time employees, 40 trucks and tractors, and $10 million in annual sales. In addition to residential customers, the company handles employee relocations for AT&T, Macy’s, Wells Fargo, and the Atlanta Braves. “I’ve never wanted to get a customer because I’m a minority-owned firm,” Lynch says. “I want to earn the business because we’re the best company for the job.”
